William W. Thies was born in 1974. He received his
Bachelor of Arts degree in both history and political science
from Louisiana State University in 1996 and his Juris
Doctorate from Southern University Law School in 2001. He
was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar Association in May,
2002. He is a member of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and
American Bar Associations, the Louisiana Association of
Justice, as well as the Baton Rouge Association of Criminal
Defense Lawyers. He is admitted to practice in all state courts,
the United States District Court for the Western, Middle, and
Eastern Districts of Louisiana, as well as the United States
Supreme Court.

Mr. Thies is a firm believer in protecting and defending
those who cannot or are incapable of defending themselves,
and as such, he is one of only a handful of Louisiana lawyers
accepting pro bono cases through his membership with the
Animal Law Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association. It
was his work with the Animal Law Section that led to Beall &
Thies, LLC’s formation of the Fur-Ever Home Foundation
whose fund raising efforts are used to aid local animal shelters
and to pay local veterinarians for necessary medical procedures
for pets without owners. Prior to his marriage to Amanda
Gross-Thies in December, 2020 and moving to Port Allen,
Louisiana, Mr. Thies served as a volunteer Arbitrator in Baton
Rouge City Court for approximately a decade presiding over
small claims where the parties agreed to binding arbitration.

Practice areas include injury litigation, criminal, and
DWI defense, Wills, contested successions, and the
representation of small businesses in our community.
Mr. Thies holds Advanced Open Water, and Rescue
Diver Certifications through PADI. Mr. Thies is avid golfer,
duck hunter, and scuba diver.
